Pharmacy Game Annual Circle Meeting 2025: Positive Developments
By Tanja Fens
The annual Circle Meeting with international partner universities highlighted exciting progress in the Pharmacy Game. The 2024 edition in Vilnius was a great success, with students demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Next year, curriculum updates will allow students to apply real-world experience by completing internships before the game.
Partners in Leiden celebrated a successful game with new case additions, while Bath introduced clinical diagnostic scenarios and piloted the prescribing and vaccinating roles for the first time. Skopje is preparing for its first Pharmacy Game this year, integrating it also into the Social Pharmacy course, and Brisbane successfully adapted their approach to include self-directed learning and industry collaborations.
Meanwhile, Groningen expanded interprofessional education, introducing collaboration with medical students on prescriptions. Across all locations, innovative teaching methods and new modules, such as the e-module on reducing pharmaceuticals in water, have enriched the learning experience.
These advancements demonstrate the Pharmacy Game’s continued growth and impact, strengthening pharmacy education worldwide. We look forward to further collaboration and innovation in the year ahead!
